TRELLEBORG VIKING MUSEUM,
RING FORTRESS & MARKET IN DENMARK

Our last stop on our trip was Trelleborg, in Denmark. Trelleborg is one of 5 confirmed ring fortresses built by King Harald Bluetooth around 980CE. There is a very nice museum there and it has an ongoing Viking exhibition. It also contains a shop, and café. We also spent some time visiting the Trelleborg Viking Festival, held in July, at the same location, This venue immerses visitors in the Viking world with a market, campfire smoke, Viking food, and reenactments like the Battle of Trelleborg.

An additional treat was visiting the encampment of Ulfhednir, a Danish Viking reenactment group, based out of Copenhagen and our friends, Christian and Henriette Henriksen, who are also members.
